Tia Doering is an artist born and raised in Portland, Maine. She earned her BFA in Photography at The Maine College of Art in May 2020. She works primarily in black and white, using a 4x5 view camera to capture constructed still lifes and landscapes. She has interned at The Bakery Photo Collective and hopes to have more opportunities to help others learn more about film and darkroom photography. She is influenced by contemporary vanitas photography, old horror and dystopian films, andĀ artists such as Tereza Zelenkova and Ralph Eugene Meatyard. Within her work, she uses the relationship between repulsion and attraction to create a sense of the uncanny.
